Wow...has it been that long? -- Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Gosh! I can't believe it has been about 6 months since I posted anything. I am so sad. :( I had to take a vacation to post a new blog.

Things have definitely changed. Gavin is now 16 months old. He got to celebrate his first birthday twice...once in Sulphur Springs with family and once in Dallas at Little Gym with friends. He is still growing and changing like crazy. It is amazing how much babies change in the first 2 years.

Our close friend Jen took some amazing pictures of Gavin when he was just over 12 months. Here are a couple and also a picture of Gavin playing the piano with his buddy Travis (Jen's son).

We've done some traveling for the holidays.

We spent some time right before Thanksgiving in San Antonio. Gavin got to spend some time with his Mimi, Gigi, Pa, Aunt Em, Uncle Justin, Aunt Leah, Uncle Devin and cousin Asher.

Gavin also got to play with one of his future girlfriends, Talia, during his visit to SA. And we got to meet Talia's new little sister, Maya. :)

We even had an early first birthday celebration for Gavin's cousin Asher who turned one on December 1st. We gave Asher some blocks for his birthday.

Gavin had his first trip to the ER a few weeks ago. He tripped and fell at the house and hit a knob on a dresser just right. 4 stitches above the eyebrow! He was a trooper though. It was much harder on us than him.

Gavin also got to see his first snow. We've actually had snow three times this winter so far. Very crazy!!

This was the first Christmas that Gavin could really enjoy. It was still pretty overwhelming for him but he liked playing with his toys and John-Robert's (his 3 month old cousin). He got lots of great toys and warm winter clothes for Christmas.

We hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!!

Summertime is Here

We are coming up on Gavin's First Birthday! I can't believe it. Time really flies fast. We've had a lot going on this summer. Sorry for the delay in posting.

With the warm weather, Gavin has spent more time outdoors. He loves his swing in the backyard and we have a little pool that he likes to play in. Unfortunately for the past several weeks we've had 100+ tempatures so we haven't been getting outside very often.

For Memorial Day, we took several friends to my parents house and hung out. Gavin had his friends Wyatt & Lily Haspel there so he had lots of fun. He actually crawled for the first time while we were there. I guess it helped seeing Wyatt & Lily crawling around. Unfortunately the water was still a little cold so the kids didn't get to swim.

At the beginning of June, Ged and I got to go on our first vacation alone. It was so much fun. We went to NYC. We basically spent our time walking around, eating, going to museums and we saw Wicked. It was a great time. We spent the last day in New Jersey were a dear friend of ours was having a baby shower for her twin girls!! Gavin can't wait to meet the little ladies.

My parents watched Gavin while we were gone and he had so much fun hanging out with his Nana and Papaw. Papaw took him riding on the 6 wheeler and he loved it! Gavin also spent quite a bit of time in the pool. He loves the water. He puts his head under and everything. We spent more time in the pool when we went down for Father's Day.

July is just flying by. It started with Gavin learning to stand. Now he is crawling like a mad man and pulling up on everything. He has even started to cruise around this week by holding on to furniture. We went to the Haspels for July 4th and Gavin got to play on their toy Ferrari. He really wants one! (He had to settle for a Cozy Coupe Firetruck instead) He is keeping us busy now that he is moving around so much. We are all baby proofed and sure that he will start walking in the next month. :)

On July 11th, Gavin and his friend Travis Dawkins were dedicated to the Lord. This was a public statement in front of some of our friends and family at our church saying that we would raise Gavin to know God. It was a great ceremony, but our precious little angel did not want to sit still. He was a little fussy, but it was still great. Our Watermark Community Group was there and they brought food which was a big help!

Look it is Nana with Gavin
(for those that don't know, my mom is usually the one taking all of the pictures I post so its rare to have a picture with her and Gavin)

That same weekend, Ged's family came into town for the dedication. Gavin was very excited to see Mimi(Sheila), Gigi (Nanny Lee), Auntie Em and Popo (Richard). He played and showed off his piano skills all weekend. He even showed off some of his dancing moves which just keep getting better. It was quite a weekend.

Now we are in town with not uch going on for the rest of the month. I guess its time to plan the big First Birthday!

A whole new world at 7 months

I started this blog several weeks ago and it was going to be about Gavin at 6 months. Well he is almost 7 1/2 months now and so much has changed.
We've spent the last several months traveling to see everyone. We've made trips to Sulphur Springs, Austin and San Antonio. Gavin got to meet all of Mimi's (Sheila) friends at a Sip and See in San Antonio. He was there with his cousin Asher. The Eavensons came to visit us a few weeks ago. That was a lot of fun having all of the kids together. Melissa, Mia and Ophelia even came to visit. The latest trip was to Sulphur Springs for Easter and Gavin got to see all of his cousins and his great grandparents and aunts and uncles.

Gavin is sitting up and playing like a big boy. I know he will be crawling any day now. He is eating all sorts of new foods. His favorites are butternut squash, sweet potatoes and pears.
He also got his first tooth and it looks like three more are well on their way. Gavin has also said his first word...drum roll...he says "dada" and he says it a lot. We are still working on "mama" but he loves say "dadada". It is really cute. I guess when he starts calling for "dada" at 4 am then I should start waking up Ged. :)

Everything is going great. I transitioned jobs at Pariveda. I decided to leave the consulting side and help out on the corporate side. I will be developing our internal training for our employees. I am very excited about this new role. It is right up my alley. I'm working on a training right now about how to manage your career and what methodologies can improve your changes for a successful career. Anyways, I'm loving it. Ged is doing great too. He's already had several closings this year. If you know of anyone that needs a realtor, let us know. Even if its in another city, Ged can refer you to someone.

We have a lot coming up this summer so stay tuned.

We hope everyone is doing well! God Bless!

Holidays

It has been a while since my last post and so much has happened. I feel like Gavin changes so much every day. He turned 4 months old 12/26 and he is almost 27 inches long and weighes around 16 pounds. He is no longer the tiny 6lb 10oz baby we brought home from the hospital.

We started the month of December by welcoming another Dipprey into the world. Gavin's cousin, Asher, was born on December 1st.

December was a busy month for us. Ged's birthday was December 8th. We celebrated with friends and Gavin woke Ged up on his birthday with a special Kung Fo Fighting birthday card and dance. The week after Ged's family came to visit to celebrate Ged's birthday, Christmas and a pre-birthday celebration for Auntie Em. Of course, Gavin got to spend some time with his grandma Mimi, grandpa Popo, Auntie Em and Uncle Justin.
For Christmas we spent about a week in Sulphur Springs with my parents. Gavin's first Christmas was a lot of fun. He got to spend some good quality time with his grandparents, Nana and Papaw (as well as all of his other relatives in Sulphur Springs).

Here are some pictures from Christmas. This Christmas was all about the horses. He got two horse themed toys.

Also, the new year brought new changes for Gavin. He started eating rice cereal this week. Right now more goes on him than in his mouth but we are working on it. :) Also you can see that his daddy dressed him for hunting season. It will make his Papaw so pround!

I hope everyone is doing well. Have a blessed day!
